This Month at Mod B!

Check out what’s coming up this month!

Elise cheesing from ear to ear as she mans the Mod B booth at the “Rock Your Curves on Curve Street” expo last year and thinks about all the new opportunities in 2022.

We’re back for another month packed full of events and shenanigans over here in the studio, and we’ve been working it OUT, let’s just say that!  From clothing swaps to our big Naughty Bettie Party Expo equipped with drag entertainment and burlesque, we’ve been BUSY, Bettie’s!

3/17 - Naughty St. Patty’s Day Drag Bingo

DeeDee Chaunte and Beauty Beyond Drag Productions hit the studio again with the hottest bingo in town!  Take 15% off of all Naughty Bettie merchandise in-store this night, just by purchasing a ticket.  These bingos are our hottest commodity right now as far as events.  Maybe it’s the amazing prize packages sponsored by Nice & Naughty Grandville and Naughty Bettie… Maybe it’s Maybelline.

Joining our resident diva DeeDee this month are the talents of two queens: Betty J and Cherub Sinn! Join us for lots of laughs, naughty jokes, and a sickening lineup of talent!  ALL prizes are bound to be naughty as f*ck. Remember, this isn’t your granny’s bingo, unless your grandma is cool. Then bring her. We love us some cool grannies. March 17 at 6pm!  There are about 10 tickets left as I write this!! Click here to get yours!

3/18 - Touch Me Please: Giving and Getting the Touch You Want

Come touch some strangers! Yes, you read that right. COME TOUCH SOME STRANGERS! During the first week of March, I had the absolute pleasure to sit down and go live with a pair of lovely humans named Emily Martin and Jared Niemela, who are hosting a super cool and intimate event at our studio on March 18 called Touch Me Please: Giving and Getting the Touch You Want! I interviewed them and probed them with some hot questions so we could allow the audience a chance to understand more about this event. The main focus of this event is to help you navigate touch and what you desire through the wheel of consent and other extremely valuable tools that they will offer. Check out the live interview here!

You have the right and responsibility to touch and want to be touched. You can come to this event and never touch anyone at all and still have a great experience!

Why should you come to this event?

Well, for one, I am a huge foodie. So I had to add dinner to the ticket. We met a local caterer at Krystal Palace GR who spoke my love language. Each attendee receives a Mediterranean dinner with fresh homemade hummus, baba ghanouj, grape leaves, falafel, chicken skewer, lamb gyro, pita bread and pita chips, and yogurt cucumber sauce! So COME HUNGRY!

Why is this event so important?

It’s important because for most of us, we’ve gotten accustomed to the idea that things happen to our bodies that we don’t want to and that we just have to put up with it and tolerate it. And no matter like… How awesome our childhood was, all of us when we were small, were touched in ways we didn’t want, right? Like someone’s changing your diaper… It’s not totally what you want, and our nervous system just gets really used to that, and we forget that actually, we have a choice over what happens to our bodies. We can use our words to say that. We can enforce our own limits. We can enforce our own boundaries, and rather than just focusing on what we don’t want, how do we move into the space of “what do I want" and how do I ask for it?”

It’s really about being able to take responsibility for our lives and for how we want them to be, and be willing to take action toward the life we want. And there’s a whole bunch of reasons why we don’t do that in life, because sometimes I just have no control and wanting to blame other people. I do actually have a choice in a lot of things and I can take action towards what I want in life.

-Emily Martin

So what are you waiting for? I’m not telling you to get a ticket, but I’m definitely telling you to get a ticket.

3/20 - #SquadBettie Spring Cleaning Clothing Swap

Our fall clothing swap last year was a HIT!

Back by popular demand, the Squad B Clothing Swap is on the calendar for March 20, just in time for Spring cleaning! Our friend Katrina is at it again!

How does this work? As you're spring cleaning your closet, hold out the pieces that just aren't you anymore for the swap. Then, on 3/20, we'll all meet at Mod B and get some new wardrobe treasures! Anything left at the end will be donated to local organizations. Last year, we had 50 bags of clothes to donate, all the way from size XS to 4XL. We’ll have a bin for I Support the Girls - Grand Rapids, so bring those used bras too!

Fifty bags of donations is a lot to pack up and transport, and we could really use your help with that! If you have an hour or so before the event to help us set up, and/or an hour or so after the event to help with tear down, we would greatly appreciate you. And if you happen to have a truck or a van or another large vehicle that you can use to bring all these donations to our local charities, we would greatly appreciate you, too!

3/21 - Fertile Ground - Shared Experiences of Healing around Pregnancy Loss

You MUST register for a seat!

It’s not often that I get goosebumps when I talk to someone on the phone these days… And then there’s Carolyn Ferrari. INSTANT CONNECTION. One of the sweetest humans to say yes to. So we did! And for a good cause at that:

Carolyn will be hosting an event at Mod Bettie on March 21. Join us for an intimate conversation where we will share space, encouragement, stories, and ideas around our shared experience of pregnancy loss.

The intention is to create a safe place where we can freely discuss without judgment, our shared experiences. It is our hope that when you leave us you have found moments of joy, catharsis, and healing.

We will have resources available to take with you for support in the days following the event, and we will end the discussion with a guided breathing or meditation. Tickets are free, but you must register here!

3/26 - Mod Bettie Party Expo!

Click here or the link below for tickets!

On March 26, we’re getting all of our friends together for an expo like you’ve never seen before! Think bridal expo on steroids, sans the brides and add the party! We want to showcase all of the things that you can add-on to a Naughty Bettie/Mod Bettie private party! Even if you’re not looking to have a private party, this is a good way to have some fun and do something different!

The day starts at 10AM at the studio with really cool vendors. These include Maid Marian’s Closet, Intuitive Card Readings by Katrina Peshka, Sweet Details GR, live Gua Shua facial massages, and so much more! 12th House GR will have an astrologer on hand, a tarot reader, henna, and reiki energy healing. We event have a cute champagne cart that will be there, courtesy of Poppin’ Bottles, LLC. Ticket includes 2 glasses!

Throughout the day, we have performances at least every hour. Check it out:

12:00PM - Beauty Beyond Drag Performance, Scarlett Rose Millionaire
1:00PM - Burlesque Performance, Hedy Harper

2:30PM - Beauty Beyond Drag Performance, La Reine Divine

As you can see, we have Zeal Aerial Fitness, Maid Marian’s Closet, and our queens from Beauty Beyond Drag trickled in the day! You don’t need to stay for the whole expo. Pop in and come back! Pop in and stay! Pop in, have a glass of champagne, catch a live performance, and head out! It’s totally up to you! The possibilities with this event are truly endless!

Tickets must be purchased on our Eventbrite page here! Literally CAN'T WAIT!

Don’t forget to stop into Naughty Bettie while you’re here too!
